When I chose ACCA, I wanted to build a career that would provide stability, resilience and opportunities regardless of economic conditions. Accounting wasn’t the career I originally envisioned for myself, but it became a strategic decision that opened doors I hadn’t anticipated.
Since then, my career has taken me from external audit into anti-money laundering, utility regulation and sustainability, and more recently into internal audit and advisory.
The breadth of the ACCA syllabus gave me a strong foundation and transferable skills that made those transitions possible. Rather than being confined to a single career path, I’ve been able to pursue different opportunities, adapt to new industries and take on leadership responsibilities.
That ability to adapt remains important to me. The profession is constantly evolving, and ACCA helps me stay current through its resources, webinars, publications and CPD opportunities.
Over time, I’ve realised that accounting isn’t a static profession. For me, continuing to learn and evolve is essential to staying relevant and adding value in the workplace.
ACCA has given me the flexibility to do that throughout my career.
